The idea

HomeJab was conceived as a more immersive way to discover and market property. The challenge was to combine video tours, structured listing information and a network of realtors, videographers, builders and owners in one experience where visitors could explore homes and connect with the professionals behind them.

Delivered scope

We built a custom WordPress marketplace around three connected journeys - Property Discovery, Video Publishing and Professional Connection - backed by structured listing data, role-based profiles, cloud media delivery and automated lead follow-up.

Video-first discovery instead of static listings

Each property page makes video the primary experience, then adds price, status, beds, bathrooms, square footage, property type, address, descriptive content and a map. Listings can use cloud-hosted video or supported YouTube and Vimeo sources without changing the visitor journey.

Search designed around property intent

Visitors can search by city, state, address, video title or feature, then narrow the experience through For Sale, For Rent, Sold and People pathways. AJAX suggestions surface matching locations, listings and professionals without forcing visitors through a conventional WordPress archive.

Professional roles and attribution built into the experience

Realtors, videographers, builders and owners receive role-specific profiles tied to their work. Listings preserve relationships such as filmed by, built by, listed by and co-listed by, while unassigned videos can be claimed and contact forms turn discovery into a professional connection.

Publishing operations connected to lead nurturing

A guided three-step workflow captures the video, cover image, music information and property details. Rackspace Cloud Files handles media delivery, while Infusionsoft tags contacts and triggers email templates when members register, publish, invite collaborators or receive an inquiry.

Platform architecture

WordPress acts as the structured marketplace core, while the custom theme connects listing metadata, user roles, video delivery, search and CRM automation into focused journeys for property seekers and real-estate professionals.

Technical highlights

Built a custom WordPress theme with dedicated search, property-detail, role-specific profile, publishing and account-management templates.

Modeled property listings through structured metadata for status, price, address, beds, bathrooms, square footage, type, video and professional attribution.

Created multiple discovery paths through listing status, keyword search, location suggestions, professional search and AJAX-powered recommendations.

Integrated Rackspace Cloud Files, JW Player, YouTube and Vimeo for scalable playback, cover imagery, sharing and timeline thumbnails.

Connected registration, invitations, inquiries and publishing events to Infusionsoft CRM tags and email templates, with maps, analytics, SEO and caching support.

Where the project landed

The documented implementation establishes a complete marketplace foundation spanning discovery, publishing, professional profiles and lead capture. The archive contains 1,407 uploaded media files totaling about 616 MB, including 31 local video files, while additional media may have lived in cloud storage. No analytics were available, so the outcome is presented qualitatively rather than with unverified performance claims.

Takeaways

HomeJab shows how a content platform can support both a consumer property journey and a professional network. Its strongest achievement is the way immersive listings, structured data, contributor attribution and automated follow-up reinforce one another instead of operating as disconnected website features.
